JOHANN MICHAEL2 MOLL, Sr. (Hans George1), was born at Weisenheim am Sand, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, in 1689, and he died at Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on 12 February 1770. Michael married at Weisenheim am Sand, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, before 1730 (the birth of his first child), ROSINA ---. Rosina died at Upper Hanover Township, Philadelphia (now Montgomery) County, Pennsylvania, after 12 January 1770.

  • 1698-June 15, Johann Michael Moll was baptized Hans Michael Moll in the Reformed Church at Weisenheim am Sand, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, with Hans Michael Strauss and Maria Margaretha as sponsors.
  • 1730-30 July. Baptism of Hiob or Job, a son of Michael Moll and wife Rosina, at the Weisenheim am Sand Reformed Church, with Hiob Held, single, as sponsor. [POPP:239]
  • 1731-September 10. Ship "Pensilvania" Merchant, John Stedman, Commander, arrives at the Port of Philadelphia from Rotterdam, but last from Dover [S-H,I:42/47]. "Johan Michel" Moll was named on List 15B among fifty-seven Palatine passengers who, with their families, making in all one hundred seventy-five persons, who were imported on the "Pensilvania" Merchant. Other Molls arrived on this same ship and appear to be related, but due to gaps in the Weisenheim church records, they cannot be documented. They are: Christophel Moll, and women over the age of 16: Margarite Moll and Anlyas [possibly Anna Elisabetha] Moll. Children under the age of 16 included "Conraed" Moll and Margarite Moll [POPP:240].
  • 1734-List of Land Owners, Salford Township. Michael Moll owned 50 acres. Johann Michael Moll purchased land in Salford Township and later in Upper Hanover Township, Philadelphia (now Montgomery) County, with his family eventually becoming one of the most prominent in the Perkiomen Valley of Pennsylvania.
  • 1736-1739. Joh. Michael Moll listed as Head of Family in Mr. Goetschius' congregation of New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church. Michael Moll and family were active participants in the Reformed Church and were members of the New Goshenhoppen Reformed Congregation, which worshipped in the New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church, a building standing about one mile west of East Greenville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, close by the east bank of the Perkiomen Creek. New Goshenhoppen is located in the Perkiomen River Valley and is an area rather than a political subdivision. Michael Moll is buried in the New Goshenhoppen Church Cemetery.
  • 1759-July 6, Michael Moll, Upper Hanover Twp., Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, advertises in Christopher Sower's Newspaper, published in Germantown, Pennsylvania, now a part of the city of Philadelphia. Page 79, German Settlers of Pennsylvania and Adjacent Territory, by Edward W. Hocker.

Heinrich married, ELIZABETH MARGARETHA FAUST, born January 1738. Elizabeth died at Windsor Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, in October 1807, daughter of Philip "Lebs" and Magdalena (Albrecht) Faust.

Barbara married, by George Michael Weiss, V.D.M. of the New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church, Upper Hanover Township, Philadelphia (now Montgomery) County, Pennsylvania, in 1757/58, ABRAHAM SECHLER (SEGLER), born in October 1729, the son of Johannes and Anna Maria (Mary) (---) Sechler. Abraham was buried 5 December 1783, age 54 years, 2 months. Abraham Sechler married, first, ELIZABETH ---, who died on 9 July 1757, when she and her child were scalped by Indians in Lynn Township, Northampton (now Lehigh) County, Pennsylvania.

The said Abraham Sechler, deceased, also left issue to wit: Henry Sechler (petitioner) above 21 yrs. and Michael Sechler, Abraham Sechler, Rosina Sechler, Jacob Sechler, Mary Sechler and Franey Sechler all under 21 yrs. Prays Court to grant Inquest for partition & valuation of said real estate. Pg. 13 of same Vol. States there is no widow or relict at the time of death of Abraham Sechler. Pg. 16 of same Vol. Dated January 24, 1785, finds the real estate was valued at 679 Pounds.
  • 1788-August 29th. Orphan's Court, Vol. 1, pgs. 110, 111 & 112. Among the administration account of Henry Sechler, upon the estate of his father Abraham Sechler deceased, late of Upper Hanover Twp. Philadelphia (now Montgomery) Co., PA, we find that there was a sum due the said deceased Abraham Sechler out of a tract of 12 acres of land, late estate of the said deceased's father John Sechler. The said Abraham Sechler deceased, being entitled to a double share as eldest son and also one other share that he purchased of his brother Joseph Sechler.

Catharine married, ANTHONY HEFFNER, born on 13 April 1767, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Lyass) Heffner. Anthony died on 19 January 1849.

Heinrich married at Bern Schoolhouse, Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, on 16 August 1798, MARIA ELIZABETH FAUST, born at Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, on 20 March 1776, the daughter of Johannes George and Anna Clara (Schmeck) Faust. Maria died at Windsor Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, on 11 January 1856.
